What makes a good consulting logo

Symbols that read as competence

Consulting is a trust business, so the strongest marks are structural and abstract rather than literal. The engine draws on the same professional pool our finance brands use: tri-peaks and triangle-cascade when the story is growth, arrow-corner, arrow-exchange and loop-arrow for change and transformation, route-square for process and roadmaps, globe-grid and woven-sphere for international reach, link-cross and chain-links for partnership, and column-pillar or folio-mark when a practice wants to feel institutional. For a partner-name firm — two surnames and an ampersand — a clean monogram is often the most credible mark of all: it reads like a letterhead, not a logo kit. An agency that sells creativity can afford a bolder badge or a brighter accent than a strategy house — the same pool covers both ends.

Type that earns the retainer

The typeface does most of the persuading here. The engine reaches for established serif faces — EB Garamond, Cormorant Garamond and Fraunces — when a strategy or advisory firm wants old-firm gravitas, and clean sans faces like Manrope, Montserrat, Inter and Outfit for a modern operations, product or technology consultancy. A slab such as Josefin Slab gives a coaching brand warmth without losing authority, and IBM Plex Mono suits a data or research practice. Palettes stay boardroom-sober — midnight and steel, graphite, ink-and-bone neutrals or a restrained onyx-and-gold — with warmer terracotta and desert tones when a coach or boutique agency wants to feel human rather than corporate.

Consulting logo FAQ

Does this work for an independent consultant or coach, not just a firm?
Yes. A solo consultant mostly needs a mark that holds up as a LinkedIn avatar, a proposal header and an email signature rather than on a storefront. The monogram and wordmark layouts are built for exactly that, and the $29 package includes a favicon and PNGs alongside the vector, so one purchase covers your profile photo, your deck template and your PDF reports.
Can I get a serious, partner-style wordmark with no symbol?
Yes. The wordmark and monogram layouts produce type-only marks — a serif wordmark or two initials in a tight lockup reads exactly like an established advisory, and for many consultancies that restraint is the right call. Regenerate until the spacing and letterforms sit right, or open any concept in the editor and adjust the typeface and spacing yourself.
Will the logo work on proposals, slide decks and reports?
Yes. The $29 package includes a vector SVG with the text converted to outlines, so the mark renders identically in a slide master, a document header and print with no fonts to install, plus PNGs and black-and-white versions — which is what a proposal footer, a contract letterhead and a printed report actually need.
Do I own the logo for my consultancy?
Yes. After the $29 one-time purchase the logo is yours to use commercially — on proposals, decks, invoices, your website and social profiles. That includes the work you send out under your own name: an agency or studio can put the mark on every deliverable it ships. No subscription and no ongoing licence.
